1) "I was lucky enough to stay in this hotel for nine nights over two stays. Tashi and his staff were fine people who did everything they could to make our group of 26 comfortable. The nights were cold, but heated mattresses took care of that. They have the best Cappuchino in Asia! This hotel was home to the family of the 13th Dalai Lama and the rooms and courtyards take one back to another era. The Jokhang Temple, the holiest in Tibetan Buddhism, is a 5 minute walk. I wish I was ther now, and hope to be again someday.

2) "The hotel is beautiful: it is an old monastery transformed into a charming, homey place. The rooms are quaint, and though the hotel does not have central heating, our stay in the winter-time was awesome because the staff worked around the clock to get us electrically heated mattresses and space heaters, making our rooms warm and cozy. The food they prepared us was excellent. The last night of our stay, they cooked us practically a western meal just to suit our tastes! The staff was very sweet, spoke very good English, and worked very hard to make sure we were comfortable. This was like home in Tibet - you will be lucky to stay here if you get the chance!"
