Built by the first Tibetan King back to 2^nd century AD, Yumbulagang Palace was the first palace in Tibet and also the summer palace for Songtsen Gampo and Princess Wencheng before they moved the capital to Lhasa. It is located in the Yarlung Valley, Tibetan Cultural Cradle.

Yamdrok Lake (4,441 m), also known as Yamdrok Yumtso or Yamzho Yumco, is located at the Nangartse County of Shannan Prefecture. It is one of three largest holy lake in Tibet (the other two are Namtso Lake and Lake Manasarovar). It’s a must see attraction nearby Lhasa!

Founded by Rigzin Terdak Lingpa in 1676, Mindrolling Monastery is one of the six major monasteries of Nyingma School in Tibet. In Tibetan language, Mindrolling means ‘Palace of Perfect Emancipation’. It is located in Zhanang County, Shannan Prefecture, Tibet.

Samye Monastery, Tibetan’s first monastery and first college, is located in Shannan Region. It was constructed by the King Trisong Detsen of the Tubo Kingdom, and the monastery was also presided over by the Buddhist master Padmasambhava or Gulug Rinpoche.

Tradruk Monastery is also known as Changzhu Monastery in Chinese. It is located in the Yarlung Valley, Shannan prefecture, Tibet (cultural cradle of Tibet). This monastery is said to be the earliest imperial monastery in Tibet that was built in the 7^th century during the reign of Songtsan Gampo.

Sheldrak Cave is a main visiting site in the lower Yarlung Valley as the entrance to the Yarlung Valley above Sheldrak Monastery. It was Guru Rinpoche or Padmasambhava’s first meditation cave in Tibet. The indigenous forces and bad evils subjected to Buddhism and showed their loyalty.

Drakmar Drinzang is the birthplace of Trisong Detsen, one of the three Tibetan Kings in the Royal Dynasty. It is a small shrine with the images of the king, Padmasambhava and Shantaraksita. The three people confounded Samye Monastery, the first Buddhist temple in Tibet built in 775 A.D.

Dorje Drak Monastery is a famous Tibetan Buddhism monastery and also one of the six big Nyingmapa monasteries. Along with Mindroling Monastery, Dorje Drak Monastery are the two most important Nyingmapa monasteries in Tibet. And it is located at the north bank of Yarlung Tsangpo River.

Tashilhunpo Monastery (3,500 m), founded in 1447 by the first Dalai Lama, means ‘heap of glory’ or ‘all fortune and happiness gathered here’.

Pelkor  Monastery, also named Pelkor Chode Monastery or Shekar Gyantse, is the main monastery in Gyantse County, Tibet Autonomous Region.

Natang Monastery, located 15 Km away from Shigatse, is constructed in 1033. This monastery is 400 years older than Tashilhunpo Monastery.

Pala Manor, a well-preserved serf manor, is situated at the Banjorlhunbo Village, 10 minutes’ drive from Gyantse County, Shigatse, Tibet.

Peikutso, also named Lake Paiku, is the largest lake in Shigatse, Tibet. This lake is 4, 592 meters above sea level and close to Mount Shishapangma.

As the only Jonangpa monastery in Tibet, Phuntsoling Monastery is the home of 50 monks in Shigatse with Dolopa Sherab as the greatest scholar.

Mount Kailash lies near the Lake Manasarovar in Ngari prefecture, Tibet. The two attractions are famous as Sacred Mountain and Holy Lake respectively.

Lake Manasarovar(4590M) is a fresh water lake which is also one of the Three Holy Lake in Tibet (the other two are Namtso Lake and Yamdrok Lake).

The Ruins of Guge Kingdom locates in Ngari Prefecture,western Tibet, not far away from Mount Kailash and Manasarovar Lake.

Lake Draksumtso is one of Tibet’s most famous attractions. It locates in the Gongbugyamda County which is 120 km away from Bayi Town, Nyingchi.

Lulang Forest (3700m) is a typical Plateau-mountain-meadow. It is 80 km far from Nyingchi County, and alongside of the Sichuan-Tibet Highway.

Niyang River is the longest tributary of Yarlung Tsangpo River which is a major river in south-west Tibet. In Tibetan, Niyang means ‘the sad tears of fairy’.

Tangra Yum Tso (4530m) is a holy lake of Bon sect. which locates in the southwest of Nyima County, Nagchu region. It is the fourth largest salt lake in China.
