Tibet Tour Itinerary: 8 days Famous Qinghai-Tibet-Nepal overland tour (train travel to Lhasa)
April16 morning flight from Xi’an to Xi’ning by yourself, to Xining west railway station and board the train for Lhasa, The train T223 leaves at Xi’ning at 5:15pm, overnight stop on the train
- Thursday 17 April –arrive Lhasa in the afternoon at 4:35pm by train from Xi’ning T223, transfer to hotel by tour guide / Dhood Gu Hotel (2 Potala View Rooms ) already booked
- Friday 18 April – Lhasa sightseeing (Potala Palace, Tibet Museum, Johkang Temple, Barkhor, old town walking tour) Dhood Gu Hotel (2 Potala View Rooms ) already booked
- Saturday 19 April –Lhasa sightseeing (transfer & tour to Drepung & Sera Monasteries, & visit Drak Yerpa) Dhood Gu Hotel (2 Potala View Rooms ) already booked
- Sunday 20 April – Leave Lhasa to Gyantse (Yamdroktso Lake (hiking)-please suggest best hiking route-I will leave this up to you, Karola Glacier, Gyantse Dzong, Kumbu Stupa, Palkhor Monastery (today or tomorrow depending on arrival time) / Yeti hotel 1 nt
- Monday 21 April – Leave Gyantse (maybe Rabse Nunnery and Tsechen Fort- no admission fees included/depends on time-this is not certain depends on the local situation and timing) to Shigatse (Tashilhunpo Monastery & Shigatse Dzong) / Manasarovar hotel 1 nt
- Tuesday 22 April – Leave Shigatse to Rongbuk Monastery – Rongbuk tent camp (if not possible then guesthouse)—we can provide camping gears if you like;
- Wednesday 23 April – early trek to EBC, free time, then drive from EBC to Peitsu-ko lake till sunset (I understand it is difficult to sleep there for several reasons so would like to visit and then drive to Zhangmu). Then Zhangmu to sleep/ New Zhangmu hotel 1 night
- Thursday 24 April – drive from Zhangmu to Nepal border/Kodari – morning /midday arrival in Kathmandu
