Day 1 Arrival in Lhasa. Scheduled transfer from airport/train station to downtown Lhasa 3 times a day. Overnight in Lhasa hotel.
Day 2 Visit sacred Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Streets old town bazaar, and Sera Monastery monk debate. Overnight in Lhasa hotel.
Day 3 Visit UNESCO-listed Winter and Summer Palace of Dalai Lama (Potala Palace, Norbulinka). Overnight in Lhasa hotel.
Day 4 Lhasa- Yamdrok Lake-Lhasa. Holy lake Yamdrok day tour. Overnight in Lhasa hotel.
Day 5 Departure day. Transfer to airport/train station at schedule times and leave for your next destination.

Tips for your guide, driver
Day 1: Arrive in Lhasa and rest for acclimatization
Upon arrival in Lhasa you will be welcomed by your English-speaking Tibetan Guide and Tibetan Driver who will bring you to your hotel. Acclimatization to high altitude: please, drink lots of water and take plenty of rest in order to minimize altitude sickness.

Day 2: Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Street and Sera Monastery
We begin visiting Jokhang Temple, the most sacred monastery in Tibet. It was founded in the 7th century by the first great Buddhist king Songtsen Gampo. Later you can explore the surrounding Barkhor old quarter and spend time walking around Jokhang Temple following pilgrims from all over the Tibetan plateau. In the afternoon we go to Sera Monastery, one of three great universities of Gelugpa Sect. We will attend the debating session of the monks.

Day 3: Summer and Winter Palace of Dalai Lama
Today we visit the beautiful Potala and Norbulingka Palaces. Potala winter palace was built in the 17th century by the fifth Dalai Lama. Provides amazing views of the entire city and houses the private quarters of the Dalai Lama, numerous grand state rooms and chapels. Norbulingka Palace is the summer palace of the Dalai Lama, built in the 18th century by the seventh Dalai Lama. It’s tradition to do picnic in its beatiful garden and perform opera dances during Shoton Festival (August-September).

Day 4: Lhasa- Yamdrok Lake-Lhasa
Today we will drive to Yamdrok Lake and you have the chance see the holy lake in Tibet. The distance between Lhasa and Yamdrok Lake is around 150 km and usually it takes us 2 hours to get there. Along the way, you can enjoy the landscape and take some pictures. When passing over the Kamba La Pass (5,050 m), we can stop and you can see the whole view of Yamdrok Lake. There are yaks there and you can take a ride on them. Then we go down to be close to the lakeside. The altitude of the lake surface is 4,441 meters and you have about one hour to walk aside the river and take as many photos as you want. Then we go back to Lhasa. On the way, we will have lunch and see Nyethang Buddha near Lhasa. There is also Nyethang Monastery near the Buddha, we can take a visit there after seeing the Buddha.
Tips: 1. The altitude of Yamdrok Lake is a little bit high, so please bring some AMS medicine and do not exercise heavily.
2. It will be a little cold near the lake, so please bring some warm clothes.

Day 5 Final Departure, tour ends
Enjoy your last hours in Tibet exploring Lhasa by your own until your guide and driver meet you at the hotel to transfer you to the airport.
