Tibet train tickets presale period–China Railway has shortened train tickets presale period from 60 days to 30 days after 30th Dec., 2016. Therefore, people can only book the train tickets 30 days in advance before departure date. As Tibet is a popular destination for global travelers, the Tibet train tickets could be extremely difficult to purchase. What’s more, the Qinghai-Tibet Railway has also shortened the presale period for Xining-Lhasa Z3601, Xining-Golmud K9803, Lhasa-Shigatse Z8801, Xining-Mahai 7583, Xining-Delingha Z9819 and Xining-Menyuan to only 20 days before departure.

For travelers who need to book train tickets or want to have a China train travel, you need the following steps to make sure you can get the train tickets and have a wonderful China tour.
Step1: Discuss tour itinerary with your trip advisor to find a best solution
Step2: Send us your document (Passport and Chinese Visa photocopies) for train ticketing and applying Tibet Travel Permit.
Step3: After we reserved your train tickets, you can get to the train station and print it out with your passport. We cannot 100% guarantee to successfully reserve the soft sleeper tickets due to short presale period and tight ticketing especially during the peak seasons (June to October) and Chinese festivals. If soft sleeper tickets are not available, we can still try to book hard sleeper or travelers may consider to take airplane instead.
Thus, if you plan to travel in China by train, you must plan it early (at least 45 days in advance) and consult your trip advisor for solutions with the consideration of the train ticketing situation.
